Rozelle Pontoon Community Petition

With the inner west busway redevelopment of the Iron Cove Bridge bulldozing ahead, what will the local community of Rozelle be left with, other than another bridge we didn’t want?
As part of the construction for the redevelopment of the Bridge a small Pontoon (see actual photo above) has been erected. When asked about their intention to leave the Pontoon for community benefit at the conclusion of the redevelopment, the RTA said it was only temporary. However, they did say that there was the option to petition Council and other Government instrumentalities so that it may be maintained.
The Community of Rozelle is interested in a range of healthy living activities including water based activities such as sailing, kayaking, rowing and other such activity. It is therefore intended to send this petition to the Roads & Traffic Authority, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and Leichhardt Council in order to seek their intervention and to have the Pontoon maintained is situ at the completion of the redevelopment of the Iron Cove Bridge.
